There is a special day of racing at Evangeline Downs that will feature the Coteau Grove Farms Stallions Stakes races with a $150,000 of purses. It will also feature the First Lady Sharon Landry Stakes followed by a pre-sale party for the Breeders Sales of Louisiana Yearling Sale set for the next day.

Join us on Wednesday, October 22 from 5:00 to 7:30 PM at Parc International for the annual RAA Gumbo Cook-Off. This year’s theme is “Decades,” so come dressed to impress and enjoy an evening filled with delicious gumbo, community fun, and family-friendly activities. Our REALTORS® and Affiliates will be cooking and serving their best gumbos for all to enjoy. Tickets are $10 presale and $15 cash at the door, with children 10 and under admitted free. A children’s costume contest will also be part of the festivities. This event is open to the public, and all proceeds will benefit Acadiana Veteran Alliance, FUNraisers, and CASA of St. Landry & Evangeline.

This year’s festival promises to be even bigger and better, with outstanding performers, a lively carnival, mouthwatering food, unique arts and crafts, exciting contests, and the fan-favorite seasoning showdown. We are exicted to add Trick-or-Treating and a Haunted House to Friday night’s list of activites!

Louisiana Champions Day is an annual premier horse racing event at Fair Grounds Race Course & Slots in New Orleans, celebrating the best Louisiana-bred Thoroughbreds. Held annually in December, the 2026 event features seven stakes races with over $900,000 in total purses. The 2025 highlight was Touchuponastar winning the Classic for a record fourth consecutive time.

One hundred years of Christmas magic is just around the corner. A full century of lights, memories, music, fireworks, and moments shared in Louisiana’s oldest city. We cannot wait to celebrate this extraordinary milestone with you.
